PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains how Lend ("we," "our," or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information. Lend is operated by Ishan Daya

as a sole proprietor; questions can be directed to ishan.n.daya@gmail.com.

## Information we collect

When you create a Lend account, we collect:

- Your phone number, used as your primary login credential. We send a one-time code by SMS to verify your number, processed

through Twilio Verify. We do not store your one-time codes after verification.

- Your name, displayed to friends you connect with on Lend.

- A profile photo if you choose to add one.

- Your location, used to show items available near you. Your location is snapped to an approximate neighborhood-level grid (roughly half a mile) and stored as a snapped coordinate, not

your exact address. Your exact address is never shared with other users.

When you add items to your inventory, we collect:

- Photos of items you list.

- Item details you enter (name, category, condition, value, description).

When you interact with the app, we collect:

- Items you list, lend, borrow, give, or receive, and the associated lend/give activities with timestamps and parties.

- Messages you send through in-app chat tied to lend or give activities.

- Friends and groups you connect with.

- Reports you file and users you block.

- App usage and crash data, including device model and operating system version, collected through Sentry for stability monitoring.

If you use the friend-finding feature, we may access your contacts on-device to identify which of your contacts are already on Lend.

Your contacts are checked locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

## How we use your information

We use your information to:

- Provide the core Lend service — connecting you with friends, showing you their items, and coordinating loans and gifts.

- Send you notifications about your borrows, lends, and friend activity.

- Show items near you while keeping your exact address private until you approve a specific borrow.

- Verify your identity at signup through SMS.

- Investigate reports of inappropriate content and enforce blocks between users.

- Monitor app stability and improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show ads in Lend. We do not share your information with advertisers or use it for cross-app tracking.

## How we share your information

Information visible to other users:

- Your name and profile photo are visible to your friends on Lend.

- Items you list are visible according to the audience you set (specific friends, friends of friends, friends near you, or specific groups).

- Messages you send are visible to the party you're lending to or giving to.

We share information with the following service providers, who process data only on our behalf:

- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication.

- Twilio Verify — sends one-time SMS codes for verification.

- Sentry — receives crash and stability data.

- Expo Application Services — handles app builds and push notifications.

- Apple TestFlight and the App Store — distributes the app.

These providers operate under their own privacy policies and are contractually required to protect your information.

We may disclose information if required by law (subpoena, court order, or other legal process) or if necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.

## Content moderation and safety

You can report items, profiles, and messages through in-app report buttons. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

You can block other users; blocking is silent (the blocked user is not notified) and prevents you from seeing each other's items, profiles, and messages going forward. Past message history is preserved.

We may, at our discretion, remove content or suspend accounts that violate our terms of service or that pose a safety risk.

## Your choices and controls

You can:

- Edit your profile at any time from Settings.

- Control item visibility when listing each item.

- Block or report other users from their profile or content.

- Delete your account from Settings. Deleted accounts enter a 60-day archive window during which you can restore. After 60 days, your account and personally identifying information are permanently purged. Items you previously lent or gave may remain visible in others' activity history in an anonymized form.

- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings → Lend → Notifications.

- Revoke location, camera, and contacts permissions in iOS Settings → Lend at any time. Features that require these permissions will not work without them.

## Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account, your personally identifying information is purged after the 60-day archive window. Aggregated or anonymized data, and information we are required to retain for legal or fraud-prevention reasons, may be kept longer.

## Children's privacy

Lend is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact ishan.n.daya@gmail.com and we will delete it.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
